All those who fail in climbing the mountain must start from the bottom again. In this case, a mountain of goods. I am shamed to report that I didn't decide on anything that I felt like purchasing on my last jaunt through the shops. This didn't actually bother my wife though. All that meant was that she had an excuse to go searching for something herself. She decided that Britax car seat covers were a great place to start. And that I should go along to see how things were done. I was given the task of going back out to shop. She took a firm stand on going with me however. My guess is that it was to prevent me from coming back with zilch again. Of course, the first thing that I had to bring up about this glorious plan was that there was truly no reason for me to be there at all. I don't think she likes shopping alone, really.

I can't even grasp the notion of treating the search for Britax car seat covers as if it's some kind of gathering. I have a totally different idea of the way that the universe is supposed to work. It's the way that she does things though. My beautiful wife, Christine, doesn't have many shopping friends. I have always found that to be strange. My sister is the exact same way when it comes to the shopping equates to a night out mentality. But in contrast, she has always made sure that there are friends there for her when she has to go out with them. People who would merrily spend all their spare moments searching through piles of hats and jewelry and baubles of any kind with her. Yes, even Britax car seat covers if that was the item of the moment. As long as they were out at the stores, they were happy.
But my wife just has a single good buddy who is into that. And she is coming from three states away so it's a long time between outings for the two of them. I likely wouldn't have gotten stuck with going shopping if that weren't the case. I'm sure she would've been more than willing to go forth in search of Britax car seat covers with my wife. And I would have been free and clear. But there isn't anything I can do about that.
How my sister set it up so she has invariably had an abundance of friends is beyond my understanding. Every one of us is blessed with our own gifts in life, and that is hers. Coming together with folks who she can connect with. People who share the same interests, whatever they happen to be. She has gotten on really wonderfully with folks, more or less, I guess. Everybody has invariably been delighted and infatuated by my sister. When she was a teenager, she was a round-the-clock cause of trouble for Mom and Dad. None of the usual transgressions were unknown to her. Being who-knows-where in the dead of night, not ever calling, hanging out with a bad crowd. That rebellious nature included, of course, some boys that seemed to be handpicked just to give our parents heart attacks right then and there. She had that down pat. I was always the good one.
The both of us made it past that time in our lives without anything really serious happening to us though. Just some childhood deviltry on her part. That's the important thing. I think every family has their difficult patches. As long as your support system is there for you, you come out ok. Speaking of rough times, I wish I was aware of a fool proof way of getting through the fix I'm in right now. The chore that I am faced with to locate proper Britax car seat covers by any means necessary. Then I would be happy.
It did occur to me to ask my sister to get over here and go on mall excursions with my wife. Our houses aren't very far from each other at all. I could not tell you the reason that I considered that, even for an instant. That girl was trouble then, and she is trouble now! I'm joking, of course. Uhm, kind of.
That's okay. I'll just keep standing by my wife, being the best shopping buddy I can be. I don't mind as much when my wife's there with me. Even after all these years, I still can't ever get enough of her. As for our mission of finding Britax car seat covers, it was a bust. Another failure in that department. This time for the two of us. We are doomed to go back there once again on my very next day off from work. She's lucky I love her to pieces.
